I have a small clump of beetroot growing in a flower bed, and some are big enough to lift, whilst others aren't.  What is the easiest way to lift them with minimal disturbance to the smaller ones.  Mrs Bouquet

I spread one hand around the bulb holding the soil down and firmly pull them up by the stalks with the other hand. This usually gives minimum disturbance.

if there are 2 of you - why not one hold the one you are pulling and the other keep the ones that are staying in place!

thats cos normally i do these things on my own thinking "i wish i had more hands"  as i too only have little hands!!
