I started mine off at the right time, and as seems to be usual for me I have lost every single plant but one, and that plant is the healthiest I have ever had, but I don't seem to be getting any fruit, at all - I have one very small pumpkin that is not yet big enough for me to be convinced it's going to make it as a fruit.

I'm not overly worried as I hate Halloween with a vengeance and despite the film it might be quite fun to have a pumpkin for Christmas, but how are everyone else's doing?

Terrible! Got one tiny pumpkin from 3 plants. Not even the size of a tennis ball yet so not holding out much hope. Ah well there is always next year :roll:

I'm doing better this year than last and have some promising ones on.  I don't grow them for size, I grow them for eating     Got some good Crown Princes on the go which are faves, some good acorn ones called Autumn Harvest I think, a Delicata honeyboat (little yet but I have high hopes for it), a couple of butternuts (praying they make it as I love em), quite a few Potimarrons, and a few Jumbo Pink Bananas. I think I have a Green Striped Cushaw which is for pie   I have some others planted but which haven't fruited yet, not that I can see anyway. They are growing all over the place

oh, I've just been moaning about this, too. Not a good pollination and fruit set on them at all this year. And yes, if they are wee now, not too much chance of ripening this season...

I've got some very large gooseberry sized ones on the couple of plants - it they don't grow no panic as the compost heap has produced plenty of courgettes and marrows so no great cost. At least the plants will be fine on the new compost heap that I'm developing so there is nothing lost even if there are no pumpkins.  :roll:

I have some jack o'lantern variety pumpkins about the size of small footballs at the moment.

rawbinood - my jack o lanterns are the same, I have about 20 of them...whoops, overdone it methinks. I only wanted a couple for halloween lanterns

Novice i'm immensely jealous of you! Pumpkin is one of my favourite vegetables. It's brilliant as a replacement to spuds for sunday lunch and makes excellent soups. Both of which sadly are lacking in this county. I never see pumpkins on sale except at halloween.

I've had trouble getting my pumpkins set at the right time, I think It was to do with the pollenating of them.
