actually Kate, feeling a bit guilty, Sam came off his motorbike in the big field and after walking back he declared to us he was almost dead, i told him i wasn't taking him to casualty at that time of night cos it would be full of drunks (had in fact had a wee bacardi  so wouldn't have driven anyway, but didn't tell him that, my bacardi's are not pub measures!) and made him wait till morning, felt a bit bad when they brought him back from xray and told me his arm was broken, (fractured in 2 places) with the scorn only a 14 year old can muster and in front of the entire waiting room he said "i told you last night  it was broken mum" floor swallow me up now please.....anyway not wanting to appear too soft, i said it was his own fault for falling off the stupid machine in the first place. do you think i was a tad too hard?
