I nipped into my local Poundland yesterday to find the gardening section has replaced the crimbo stuff  8)
My local Wilko's has seed potatoes but in big bags and my plot is small  :(
Poundland to the rescue!! 10 Desiree seed potatoes for a nugget!
They have also got fruit sticks in, I got a redcurrent last year and got loads of currents from it but they didn't have any raspberries which I want as they are my fav! They have got loads of roses which a mate brought some last year and they did very well too. They have got plenty of seeds mostly flowers and loads of odds and sods aswell so people take a peek u might get a bargin!!

I went to my local Wilko's store and found nothing of interest  bah!
I asked one of the spotty chaps if they had any seed potatoes and he gave me a blank expression and directed me to a poor selection of last years lettuce seed ! It  seems the youth of Kingston-on-Thames have no idea what potatoes are grown from! A very sad state of affairs.

The less expensive shops around here seem to be competing with one another for gardening items, which is good news for us consumers.

I got my twinpacks of conifers, garden fleece, smalll polytunnels, potatoes, redcurrant, blueberry and gooseberry bushes and hanging baskets from Poundland.

Wilkinsons provided the Raspberry cane, rhubarb and garlic at £1.50 each

Netto for the veg & herb seeds at 19p a packet (same ones did well last year at more than double the price)

Ebay for the Chilli seeds (10 varieties for £2)

Lidl for a Cherry Tree for £3.99

Between them, there are some bargains to be had.
Organic where possible, unless it involves the snails that now seem to be eating the slug pellets for fun
