ok ok...so its exciting for me.... after my last total failure with my incy, i got some eggs from a farmer friend of mine....10 of them, a few different sorts.... i was going to just leave it and wait and see what hatched...if anything, was going with the whole... " like a tin with no label on " thing, get a suprise when they hatch, but i gave in yesterday and asked what they were....

apparently they are a mix of Marans, Sussex, and Rhode Island Reds!...well, i am thrilled to bits, but I am not too sure what my Warren ladies are going to think of them??? ...oops....counting chickens before they hatch...not a good idea!

good luck chookie, i'm expecting my new incubator to arrive today (well pip's really) we're going to pop in 6 of Lonely's eggs (she's the only one we think is fertile, thanks to Elwoods efforts and is kept seperate at night from the others, so at least we know which are her eggs) with her being an ex barn hen we've no idea what might happen (possibly nothing) if we're succesfull then we may get some lavender pekin eggs and try with those, pippa's beside herself with excitement (must admit so am i ) and even the boys are sworn to secrecy, can't wait.....................
