Last year tried to plait garlic and it was a dismal failure.  this year, well first ever successful efforts!

Well Done, they look really great. I hope mine will turn out something like. Mine are drying nicely ,sheltered from the rain, will be having a go at plaiting next week. Where did you get your method /instructions from.Any advice appreciated.

Can't remember where I got the instructions sorry but basically it said start with three garlic bulbs and plait as you would for any plait for about an inch then add one more bulb to one of the strands plait a few more add another etc etc.  one thing I learnt is that teh varieites that have hard stems don't plait so well, the stems need to quite stringy.  its very messy but good fun to do.  tieing them off though still needs some work!  you probably need a small piece of string to do that, I used the unused garlic stems that had fallen off and they weren't really strong enough.

And yes mrs B, I have practised for years on my daughters hair before she started to complain about it, lots of french plaits on her head!
