Have been keeping chickens for just two weeks now!

I'm building a new run for them at the back of my stables. They have Ivy growing up the walls. Is this poisonous to chickens?

Thank You

Indy

I dont know if its poisonous for chickens, spose it would be as it is for most livestock. They probably wouldnt touch it but jump up and peck at the flies on it. But, from experience of ivy on a stone wall in my chicken run....the rats love it to hide in. I try to keep my side of the wall clear.

I had Ivy growing in my garden and ferns, but everyone advised me that the chooks wouldn't eat what was bad for them. Result they stripped the Ivy all the way to where they could reach, and already the ferns are stalks. My chooks are nearly 1 year old and fit and healthy :D
