Well after pondering on all the advice on pickling beetroot went for malt vinegar, black peppercorns & coriander, together with some sugar.  It has worked a treat and really enjoying them - bit sharp so will put in bit more sugar next time.

I used the microwave jam recipe from the recipe section - and am thrilled to bits with the results, especially as the rasps were given to me by my neighbouring lottie holder and I have never made jam before. When I get enough jars will be doing gooseberry too.!!

Well done greenfingers , we too tried making jam this year and said ' it'll never work ' but it only went and did ! . We used the apricot jam recipe from Delia's summer collection . It' the best jam I've had in a long while and I bet yours is the same! .

Oh I might have a go at the jam if you can use the micro    Got a stack of rasps and guzgogs

I notice that my breadmaker instructions says it can be used to make jams. Anyone tried it

I tried the bread maker one but didn't get on very well with the recipe that came with it, I'm tempted to try the recipe from that other thread.
