i have just been looking on the battery hen welfare trust an was looking at locations near me and saw this for surrey area ,,,,,  'temporaily suspended from august ' does anyone know anything about this please.

Hiya, had a look on the site and i havent got a clue either. Are there any others close(ish). I live in Yorkshire and ended up traveling a 4 hour round trip to get mine, well worth it tho.

I did get in touch with the Surrey branch once, and it is all done by volunteers.   I think if it had been anything nefarious, then the suspension wouldn't have been delayed until August, it would have been instant.  don't know of course, but seems likely.

i did contact a animal centre today whos number i got though the  ex battery trust and the woman said to call back early to mid august an there may be some birds left then as she said soemthing about another 140 birds will be going to her , thing is i have really only started to build my run so looks like i will have to get cracking as soon as the main part of the fencing is in  :? but i am getting so excited i really cant wait ...... :lol:

It is soooo exciting isn't it.  I've only had my girls two weeks but I just know it is going to get more and more addictive... you only have to read the regular posters of this forum to know that!

its getting very exciting but i must not let the birds stop me from doing my other animals fisrt ,,,lol by that i mean that i must not come home from work an just sit there watching them all afternoon and evening .i work about  1 minute walk from my house and the alloments are rite on the end of my garden  so once i have done the dogs an horses each day i should be able to watch them from early evenings onwards .
