Plum & Peach curl

Hi all,

I hope someone can help! I have a dwarf victorian plum tree in my garden and this year it seems to be diseased. My mum thinks is plum curl (?). The leaves are mostly curled up and there were very few white blossoms on the tree this year. Can I treat this disease? and if so, how & when?

My dad has a similar problem with his peach tree. What do you recommend for treating peach curl??

thanks eversomuch in advance!!
 :D

Oooh Ooooh I know this, tho I dont grow them I saw gardeners world on this, apparently its to do with the wet stuff that falls from the sky, they said to take off the leaves that are curling, you will need to build a rain shelter that covers the tree and protects it from the rain, this year will be a write off but next year it should recover, same for the peach, me next door has same problem and his is starting to look ok.

I have sprayed my tree, removed all dead leaves, raked around the base, and given a good general fertilser (B F &B) It now seems to be perking up a little, and has several new shoots, but is still pretty weak

'victorian plum tree'

A respectable age at any rate.

Pocket plum is a fungal disease of plums, not too common though all over Britain, if had this, the fruit would be rather unmistakenly distorted.

There are alot of minor leave curls though, too. Check for insects or residues from them, these can also cause curling.

At any rate, diseased leaves should be meticulously removed, as per above.

Good luck.
