Only thing to watch for is if it is a bit too long, they can get it stuck in their crop.
We did it a couple of times but one of our girls had a crop problem shortly afterwards and it could have been that.

Make sure the grass is all cut into short pieces.  If they eat long bits they can impact in their crop !

I always dump a couple of loads after cutting my grass... but as already said only if it is short grass. My girls love to dig about in it as well :)

Cut grass starts to ferment shortly after being cut, so remember to make sure that the grass is very freshly cut.

Next door have used it as a mulch on their borders. In the warm weather following rain, the smell was not pleasant.

I put all mine on the compost. Heats it up a treat.

I'm so sorry, just about to cut my grass and am probably going to ask a stupid question how long is too long?! I think once cut, the blades will be maybe an inch long? is that too long what is too long?!!!

Thanks
