Free meal for anyone close by
« on: June 18, 2008, 09:31 »
Hi
I bought some meal for my new chickens as the breeder said that was what they had been eating, however they won't touch the stuff and have gone onto pellets.  Anyone who wants a large bag and can collect it from Whitby can have it (or swap for pellets  )

If you have time, have you tried preparing the food in a different way? My three are not too keen on pellets, so I put some in a dish and add boiling water and it goes into a sort of porridge. They love it. I add a few raisins or any other food to it sometimes. My hens are spoiled, but it saves wasted food.
