I have so many questions but I'll try to keep them to 1 a day.  

Tomato side shoots - it always seems such a waste binning the poor little things, this year I've pushed a few in compost (I think I remember someone on here mentioning it) they seem to have  rooted and are around 4 inches high. Is there any point are they likely fruit?

Little point doing it if they're not going to fruit!

Not that I'm lax at side shooting, but I've got 16 new plants in the greenhouse!

I've been doing that too, Lardman.

Just to see how they go and how they compare to the parent plant/fruit.

If they don't perform then I won't bother next year, but will be interesting to see

they take off a lot quicker than from seed.
