 compost queen what a lovely story! See men just don't know they NEED animals to love.. it's our job to show them! ;)

our dog chased something out of the garden at 11pm last night.. really went mad, hubby was most concerned for our girls.. and we checked on them twice (from the window) last night - as foster daughter wakes in the night. Still first thing he said this morning.. any sign of damage to the fence to the girls?
 this from the man that didn't want them!  8)

Hawthorn...how long before you fall hook, line and sinker and get some of your own???! Meanwhile...keep collecting...they love those little white slugs too if you can find them on your veg!!

Well, I do keep having the same conversation with my other half.

'Over my dead body' was his response last time - although he did look a little worried when I suggested that at least it was an option :D

would you like to borrow one of my fairies? they make chooks just appear from nowhere  :D

I find the best way to get past a reluctant other half is not to ask them, because if they say no and you got them anyway that would be bad, I just got mine without asking and that was that, he's slowly warming to them I think, if not a little fed up with the fact that every conversation we have I can turn it around and make it about chickens

As for when you get them mmmm I haven't done a stitch of house work since I bought them home, the washing is piling up, the carpet is so hairy you could knit yourself a jumper with the amount of pet hair on them, I just can't pull myself away from watching their every move, they are more addictive than drugs and alot safer.
