I am sure this is a really stupid question but am going to ask anyway - I've got three blueberries in pots on the patio which are plastered in flowers - or they were until we got gusty winds on Tuesday/Wednesday which blew quite a few of the flower heads off.  I've had a look and it seems like only the white bell is in the pot and the ??stamen/stigma (long,long time since O level biology) is still attached to the plant.  What are the odds on me getting blueberries on these?  Was really gutted when I saw them as I only got about 12 berries last year.

At this point, it's hard to tell if you'll get berries. The bees may have already visited, or not. Until the stigmas start swelling into fruit you won't know. Without the brilliance and scent of the flower cup to attract them and hold their weight, it's unlikely bees will come to bare stigmas. The wind might pollinate them, but don't hold your breath. Bad luck I fear.

we bought a thin stick from the 99p shop THEY called it a blueberry bush ... we had the start of 2 blueberries, SOMETHING ELSE actually had the 2 blueberries, roll on next years blueberries :roll:
