curling leaf on cuc
« on: May 10, 2008, 18:13 »
One of my 3 cucs has a curled up leaf. The other plants in the same compost & area are fine. They get watered plenty at the same time as I believe they are thirsty plants. Could it be too much water? Too hot? The rest of that particular plant looks fine & strong, just a curled up leaf. Thanks anyone  :?

Take that leaf off and see what happens if it's only one leaf it won't make much difference.

Ok I've done the deed, the leaf was circular rather than er, leaf shape The 2nd adult leaf is growing. Just in case, I've time to germinate more so think I might just do that tomorrow  :)

Most likely some physical damage, don't worry. Too rich soil or similar.  No need to remove. What are they in and where are they?

It's in it's final pot of home produced compost, like the other 2. It's next to a S facing wall and had plenty of sun & water. The other 2 plants are fine, so far ..... Thanks Gobs

Well they're well watered, I know they don't like having wet feet, couldn't be that could it?

My cuc, squash, courgette leaves always get a bit curled especially in full sun on a window sill.

Once they get planted out they don't seem to suffer from the experience though. :D

Thanks peeps, I've never been this adventurous with growing my own before. It's a whole new and most enjoyable learning curve. My cuc seems none the worse this morning despite having a leaf surgically removed  :D , thanks again!
