Just in case the insurance people kick off about moving it  - it would be a danger to your child to leave it there.

They are always looking for an excuse not to pay.

We're not all bad! Some of us poor claims people are actually nice allotment folk like yourselves - we just somehow ended up working in insurance! And honestly, there is normally a good reason if you don' t get a payout - we're not out to do you out of what you've paid for - really.

Hi Sarah C - I know you're right really, having had both good and bad experiences with insurance pay outs over the years.  I had a shop that was robbed and the assumption was I was inflating the loss (I wasn't but had to settle because we needed some money quick to pay for the goods)
Then there was the firm that I rang when I stepped on my specs - I explained I had got up to stop the cat scratching up the carpet and they kindly explained I was covered for pet damage as well.

So Happy New Year to you :)

2 old boys in the insurance office.....

First Old Boy: "We had a terrible fire, all the wharehouse stock for Christmas went up in flames. Thank goodness for insurance"
Second Old Boy: "We had a flood. All the stock just floated down the river. Thank goodness for insurance."
First Old Boy: "Tell me, how do you arrange a flood?"

 :tongue2:

Not to worry - no offence taken - I know we insurance types have a bad name. Just thought I'd better defend myself!
Anyway, I'd much rather be spending my time at the allotment or in front of the fire planning it anyway in this weather than being stuck in the office handling claims - unfortunately that won't pay the bills!

Got given some Jerusalum Artichokes this morning by neighbours on the plot - anyone got any ideas on how to cook them? And is it true they give you wind??!

There's a recipe for Jerusalem artichokes in the recipes section -  a soup as I recall.

Nope, never worked for Safe Style - can't even remember the name now, only lasted a couple of days.  Sometimes you just have to admit a job isn't for you.

Well, I quite like insurance people just now.  After taking off the excess, they're giving me £15 less than I paid for the car in the first place, so I can't complain.  I've got the rear headrests in my wardrobe, so if I can flog them on ebay for a five apiece, I'll have broken even!  Just need to find another car, now...
