Pasca F1 Cucumber
« on: May 05, 2008, 15:02 »
Hi,
My Nana has bought me a Pasca F1 Cucumber plant as a present. The plant is about 4 inches high and currently in a 3 inch pot.

I have never grown Cues before but I do have some greenhouse space, so i want to give it a go.

Can you please give me any suggestions for growing this Cue?
Does it need support? How about feeding?
When will it harvest.

As you can see I know nowt about Cucumbers so any help will be good.

Thanks.

I couldn't find any references to this variety of cuke. But as an F1, it's more likely an eating cuke (although pickling cukes are edible fresh as well). At a guess, I'd give it some support as most cukes are sprawlers and climbers. In a greenhouse, I'd train it as a climber. If it turns out to be a bush type, no harm done but at least you were prepared.
All cukes need very regular watering or you have odd shaped fruit that's bitter. They also need very rich soil.
