Sore throat?
« on: May 02, 2008, 20:00 »
OK, I may just be getting neurotic after our experiences of this week, but do hens ever lose their voices?  And if so, why?

With one hen eating her own eggs daily and another just gone from a stroke, I wouldn't be in the least surprised to find I've got a third one with pneumonia !!!
Nobody said this was going to be easy ... but some days are better than others!

I noticed yesterday evening that while the other two were 'chook-chooking' away, she was doing the same but not much actual noise was comng out - like she'd lost her voice

Same again this morning - she was trying to give me a hard time for not letting them out this morning (I told her it was because Aunt Sally said they had to stay in and eat their feed not go wandering around the garden - she wasn't impressed   ) - but not a lot of noise was coming out!

Told you I was getting neurotic ...
