How long does it take potato plants/shoots to be visable?

Planted mine at easter. In large pots Charlotte showed growth once then nothing, but Lady Christl growing 2" above compost every day in the last week and half. Bit worried about the Charlotte. Put loads of chicken manure in pots.

planted mine 3 weeks ago - if it ever stops raining i`ll go & see how they`re getting on!!
