Hi Guys, I did not open the air vents on my propergator, not heated.  I thought I was getting seedlings coming but when I looked closer I realised that they were tiny white mushrooms and there is also a hairy mould.  One seedling looks like it is poking through but are they all doomed.  I have removed the mushrooms and tried to remove the hairy mould but worried that the spores are too small and that they will spread.  What do you think and do any of you have any tips - apart from open the vents next time.

Check what type of soil you've used.  :?  The mushrooms sound very suspicious. Sounds like you'd best buy another bag of starter soil for one thing, sterilize your propogator before the next use, and do follow directions. Once the seedlings have sprouted, then you take off the top and lower the heat. Another precaution is once you've put the seeds into the soil and watered it, spray it with a damp off solution which will control molds (fuzzy stuff).

Mushroom compost?  A bit of hairy thing can appear sometimes if it's in dots, can just be some seed decayed and getting decomposed. Pick them all out carefully with soil, not dropping any and bin and see what happens.

Not all fungi are harmful, it is a good practice though to separate these pots, just in case.
