Back at last! And a question please
« on: April 20, 2008, 17:22 »
Without wanting to sound a bit poor me, I haven't been around for ages. First my FIL died, then within a week my ex MIL and then my sister was rushed into hospital and has been very seriously ill indeed. Thankfully she is now on the mend and I have at last returned home after looking after her when she was discharged.

Soooooo at last I've been back to the allotment, put in all the spuds, potted on my cabbages and leeks and planted some more seeds.

A question though, is it too early to start my runner beans and sweetcorn (at home in a mini greenhouse)?

I'm so glad to be back to normal again!
Lynne.

So much to do, but so little time.

Hi Lynne,

Sorry to hear about things, but glad you're back with us.

My beans & sweetcorn went in a few days ago in the unheated greenhouse, if that's anything to judge by!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Welcome back Lynne. Sorry you've had a tough time away. On the gardening front - well, you're doing better than I am!

Hi Lynne

sorry to hear your news

Looks like you've arrived back at the right time though.

Temperature hit 16.5 C here this afternoon.

Like others I have various beans and sweetcorn in unheated conservatory.

Only been there for a few days though so I am sure yours will catch up if you plant them soon. I followed John's chitting method for the sweetcorn and they were germinated in 72 hours.

Cheers HH :)
Keep digging

Welcome back Lynne and don't worry about being late. The weather we've had this year your seeds will be just as good if not better!
I know less today than I did yesterday, and I knew nothing then!
