Feeling terrible for hen
« on: April 16, 2008, 09:55 »
Ive just got back from the vets where I asked them to put my silkie to sleep. She had been limpin badly since friday. Despite having anti biotics for a hot foot she gradually got worse and in the end although when I held her she ate loads, she couldnt even stand and kept flopping over. Good grief. I know it was only a hen but having to stroke her while she drifted off was terrible. Though I know I did the right thing it still makes me feel dreadful because she was still so bright and eating. Ive had to dig a hole for her with one arm because the kids wanted her back in the garden. Feeling dodo at the mo. :(  :(  :(
Oh for those halcyon days of England long ago
