Hi can anyone offer advice?  1 of my hens has taken to laying her eggs from the perch, not sure why.  Only had them about 4 weeks and I think this 1 came into lay the other week.  1 egg was being laid on the floor regularly, while the other 2 were in the nest box, so presuming the same hen.  Photo below.  The eggs now seem very pale, paler than before, anybody any ideas to why this is happening?

she's still learning. you can always try putting a few golf balls in the nest box, to encourage her to lay there.

she will get it. ive had a couple literally plop an egg out as they were wandering around the garden. they soon realised it was more comfy and private in the nest boxes.

Why is it so pale?  

We did have some golf balls in the nest box before, but when they started laying in it we took them out.  Thought with the others laying in there she'd get the hang of it.

Regarding egg colour, what breeds are they  :?:

Hybrids, 1 Lohman is that the same as a Warren, and 2 Amberlinks.  We were getting  1 darkish brown egg and 2 paler ones so presumed the darker was from the Lohman?
