What is big?

Are you looking in terms of green house, or outside?

The way the weather is at the moment - no way outside.

If you're looking at a greenhouse, IMHO, you'd still need some heating - we have more frosts forecast.

I generally put mine into a heated greenhouse when about 9" tall, towards the end of this month.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I agree, too cold to venture outside on their own yet!! I'm growing mine in the conservatory, like last year ,and have now moved them into big pots (plants are about 12 inches high) with a stake to support them. They are going great guns! I did this last year and then moved them outside in mid-May when we had more warmth. i didn't put them straigh tout even then though-got them used to it by putting outside in he day and bringing in late eve for  week or so before leaving them out full-time. Make sure you water them enough and don't let them get droopy if you are growing them indoors! :)

Mine are germinating in my mini greenhouse with extra wrapping covering the broken zip and the front. The temp doesn't drop below 10'c which I know  is a bit cool. My marigolds have germinated well in there. It's slow going but my cucumber, chillis & sweetpeppers are on the only available windowsill.
