Potato question
« on: April 28, 2008, 12:28 »
I started some Jersey Royals indoors in early February and only moved them outside last week.

The haulms are very tall and healthy but do I have to wait until the flowers appear before I can harvest them? As they have been grown indoors, they seem quite advanced and I wondered whether the 'normal' rules apply.

I can't just try one of them as I will have to empty the bag to get at them.
Lynne.

So much to do, but so little time.

You really need to wait until they start flowering then dig a little soil away to see what size the potatoes are. If they're still too small then just leave them until they grow a bit bigger.
