Bit like a simple bird house but smaller and on the front a 1cm gap top and bottom. Put some hay or straw inside but not packed to tight.
He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.

thank you - i have a bird house that my dd built in school years ago, never used it for birds cos i have cats and it seemed cruel to put it up, so i can use that - should i put it up near where the leadybirds are??  or will they find it anyway?

Mines about 4 1/2 foot up on a fence post amongst the garden plants I'm sure they find it easy enough.

Here you go

it's made from ordinary MDF and dragged with a exterior woodstain to make it look like wood and to protect, it's been up in the garden for about4-5 yrs only painted it once and filled it loosely with straw.
Hope this helps and sorry for the delay.

On Gardeners' Question Time today, one handy hint for making a ladybird shelter was to use sweetcorn and sunflower stalks instead of putting them into the compost bin.

Cut them into similar lengths, bundle them together with string, and place them in a hedge or evergreen place so they won't be disturbed.

And Bob's your uncle !
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
