I have 2 hens 1 of which is persistently broody  :roll: when the weather gets better I'm thinking about letting her hatch a small brood.  I'm enjoying looking through all the breeds and love the look of the bantam australorps.  Has anyone got these or know any reason why I shouldn't hatch them?!

Hi ness I have bantam black ones they are lovely and do go broody mind. One of mine hatched a brood last year.

There is a piccy here somewhere of the 3 of them broody together!

You posted that fab photo on my "part time Broody" thread, Foxy!  I thought they were lovely but in my ignorance thought they were Pekins.  What do you think of them?  I love the glossy black sheen and the dark eyes.  
My plan is to hatch a few when Princess Snow White goes broody next, and keep 1 hen.  My oh may not be too happy but luckily his knowledge of chicken breeding is vague so I am planning to introduce the idea of immaculate conception!

I love them, they have beautiful dark expressive eyes and gorgeous soft black feathers with a green sheen....
