Other than the obvious wood one's I've seen them done in roof tiles, large bathroom tiles (which really look good) and upturned wine bottles.

Would vodka bottles upturned do the same as I can lay my hand on quite a few of them  :oops: would lessen the weight in my recycle bin by at least three quarters :oops:

Mine are a mixture of reclaimed floor boards, condemmed scaffold boards and new 6"x1" boards.

They are "lined" with reclaimed roofing slate to prolong life, if you have second hand slate merchant near you they'll be happy to give you damaged ones for the garden.

The slate and boards make good hiding places for slugs execept that I know that they know....
