i had my spuds chitting in the shed, but when it was down to -5 some of them must have got damaged.i moved them indoors but alot of have gone soft and have foam coming out of them.
should i throw away the damaged ones or throw them all away and get some new seed?
i dont want to end up with no crop at all for the sake of a few quid now.

I'd chuck the soft foamy ones as they've had it, but the ones that are still firm, keep them.  waste not want not you know!  I just covered mine that were in the shed last year with plenty of fleece and they were fine through the frost.

but light can still get through the fleece weasal.  But if you've got them indoors now, they won't get frostbite anyway!  It's just that I was told now I had sheds and greenhouses, I wouldn't need to clog up the house with seedlings and chittings!!!!

Mine are in the shed, and uncovered. They are sprutting, but the chits are pale. Should I cut them off and take the tubers indoors and let them start again, or leave them as they are ?

Any advice would be great.

Cheers, Kerry.

By the way, still haven't heard from Norman at the Council, now it's going to be another fortnight at least. On a positive note though he said they were getting diggers in to create 2 new plots as well as halving some that aren't being worked, so everyone on the list should be satisfied!

They might need a bit more light. I would get a bit of fleece and cover them but leave them in the shed, near the window.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Thanks noshed, they are on the other side of the shed opposite the window, so will move them when I get home.
