It does not make any sense to me. That water is going to make warm soil for about 5 minutes, the seeds did not even notice they got planted, etc, etc.

  i'm sure i've heard of people pre-chitting nips by putting them in a bowl of water somewhere warm and then sowing once they've already started to germinate... but i'm not sure so don't try it and then blame me when it goes wrong!

By far the best method
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Could they be started off in pots just to give them a chance. By the way I was dead excited today my cabbage seeds (hispi) had germinated. I
was well chuffed.  :D
Oh for those halcyon days of England long ago

I sown 40 in toilet rolls Shaun as a bit of an experiment this year they are already about an inch or so high, I put them in the cold frame last week so will plant them out early next week when these winds have died down a bit.
I used to work in a helium gas factory, but I walked out, no one talks to me like that.

If you can hold back from planting a bit more. The soil is still to cold and you could lose all that you sow.

If you go on this link     www.metcheck.com
you can put in your own postcode and click on the hoobies tab then garden it  gives lots of good info about Time of the day, Max -  Min temp, Soil Evaporation Wind Spd Humidity Rainfall ect, it also gives up to 14 days weather.

Thank you for the metcheck link - LOVELY to get a good weather link that doesn't treat the reader like an idiot!

New poster here - doing a joint effort of a vegetable garden with a female friend this year as we figure that between us we have enough time to do this!
