Clean leaves after paint job
« on: August 08, 2024, 09:43 »
Dear gardeners,

As our house looked really shabby we had the house and stone walls surrounding the garden painted. Although they took great care and try to protect the plants as much as possible I have fine spray drops on several plants like camelia’s, rhododendron and young magnolias. Is it possible to gently clean the leaves? If so what is the solution I need to make up?
The paint used was Fleetwood weather shield which is an acrylic based paint.
Look forward to your replies.

There doesn't seem to be anything related in the articles on A G.  I did search and find the following:
https://thestem.co.uk/plant-academy/plant-blog/how-to-clean-plant-leaves

Personally, unless it's really unsightly, I'm not sure I'd bother. The plants will naturally drop old leaves and replace them with new clean leaves.
