Plug plants. Never again?
« on: June 28, 2024, 09:15 »
I wanted to try growing cucumbers and got tempted by some plug plants that I saw at a recommended on line Garden Centre. Of the 3 plants two of them had snapped  by the cotyledons and didnt survive. The company refunded the money so nothing lost, or so I thought. I grew on the remaining one and had my first cucumber yesterday but the plant is not well. It starts off looking OK in the morning but when exposed to any sunlight it collapses. I can only think that weevil grubs are to blame. I am loath to dig it up as it may still produce another cucumber but I am not pleased at having been sent weevils by the garden centre and am not sure what to do.
