My very happy birthday
« on: June 27, 2024, 12:46 »
Firstly thank you all for your birthday wishes.  It was a special one with a "0" on the end.  I am officially very old now and my pension has now gone up by 25pence a week  :D
My day was fantastic.  I had bought myself two bush roses "Precious Amber".    So a trip to a garden centre that I know sells alot of containers, but only bought a bag of rotted manure, I thoroughly enjoyed a good mooch though.   Then onto another rather odd place called "Big Plants".   They have a jungle tearoom which is very rustic,  just small but such a happy place.  I asked for a big slice of cake as it was my birthday (they all know me at this place).   The tea arrived and then this huge slice of cake with thick layer of blueberry at the bottom, it was 4" high.   When it arrived they had put a lighted candle on it and all walked across singing Happy B/day.    All the other lunchers looked and then joined in.  It was lovely.
I then went for a mooch around and bought a ginger plant and a bamboo Fargesia  "Black Pearl"

Several hours later got home and opened all my cards and many gifts.  I was completely overwhelmed at so many kind thoughts.
My daughter bought me a air fryer, but I have two microwaves, two ovens and slow cooker and my hob.  I seldom cook (which is why she bought it).  So it has been exchanged for a pannini and sandwich press.  Much more useful for me.   My son sent a thermos mug for hot/cold drinks.  Brilliant.
Daughter and Son in law took me to our brilliant curry restaurant.
Seriously, a fantastic day.   It will stay in my memory.    Mrs Bouquet

How wonderful, glad you had a great day  :D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I'm so glad you had such a lovely day, Mrs B.  I'm sure that you're a lovely person, you sound as if you are from your posts on here, and that is why so many people wanted to ensure you had a lovely day.

The government has been very generous too, but don't go too mad with your extra 25p!  If you save it up for two months you'll be able to buy a lottery ticket and you never know your luck.
