It'll be fine with any cold, but I imagine it will do better if the ground is drier than a typical uk winter. I always get some attrition outside which i put down to the wet, this year I have a load of backups in modules in the greenhouse
You can still plant them up to March, some varieties can do better with a february planting like silverskins that typically are the last to mature, so they have more of the summer to bulk up
