Rats, Or one in particular.
« on: June 22, 2023, 12:12 »
Good morning gardeners,
we have what I believe to be a single rat in our garden living under the shed.  I have tried humane traps (no joy) and poison baits which the begger seems to consume with relish!  Can anyone recommend a bait that does work? >:(

Cheers,  Tony.
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

Good old fashioned snap trap set up in a cage/box with tunnel entry to keep none target species out.
Failing that .22 air rifle.

I sometimes get problems as a neighbour has a very old run down shed in an abandoned corner of their garden that rats colonise from time to time.

The latest one I bought was this and it did the trick very fast. I use blocks in a bait box, but I think you can also get a granulated feed.

Thanks newshoot, when the divvil has eaten through the blocks I have, I'll let him have some of those.  Cheers,  Tony.
