Well my new tats are just poking through, although I am now thinking they wont be making an appearance on the dinner plate come Christmas day. Still early spuds sound good.

Well done, I tried to grow potatoes for Christmas they came through well but before I got them under cloches with fleece I lost them to the torrential rain we’ve had recently, so next year will try harder. Hopefully yours are already under cover.

Yep, growing mine this year in a bucket (big one) in the greenhouse, I have wrapped polystyrene sheets around the bin to insulate it and I have some fleece if it gets really cold.

That’s exactly what I intend to do next year, but use an old home brew bucket (about 2 foot tall) and keep adding soil as they grow to earth up. I’ve read that somewhere that it’s the way to do it.

2 of my potted spuds are showing above the soil now, proably won't be ready for Christmas like you said Aidy, but we'll see. The biggest one is in the polytunnel and the others are in the bubblewrapped greenhouse!
