Beasties in my Comfrey butt
« on: June 28, 2022, 14:31 »
Comfrey in old pillow case.
Decided I would replace as the stuff was just chopped up stuff and clearly not the appropriate colour or Oder. These beasties were in there, they do have tails. The water butt always has the lid on.
Any idea what they are and are they edible?
Thanks for your very valuable time

Look like rat tailed magots -https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rat-tailed_maggot They are harmless and shouldn't cause any issues on your veg, but I wouldn't eat them!
