Can’t identify black currant problem
« on: May 21, 2022, 16:00 »
Hello,
I’ve had my two blackcurrant bushes for three years, and followed guidelines re pruning etc. I had a small bowlful of berries last year and had high hopes for this year.
This year they started so well with lovely healthy foliage, but became covered in sticky substance and the leaves started to get brown edges. I read around, assumed it was aphids, and didn’t worry because it said they would not affect the fruit. However now the fruit is just falling off and there is hardly any left.
What should I do? Any advice gratefully received!
