A fellow grower and I were discussing the state of the world over tea today, when our reflections were interrupted by a very loud, metallic droning noise in our vicinity. We rose and scanned the skies. A light aircraft? A drone launched by the Council to detect illicit bonfires or barbeques? A neighbour using a pound shop angle grinder? None of these.
A search revealed nothing.
We had got as far as considering reconnaissance prior to alien invasion, when the noise suddenly stopped.
We both saw a very irate bee emerge from an empty watering can....
