Is April too late to prune a fig tree?
« on: March 25, 2022, 17:06 »
Due to a gardener taking 3 weeks to quote then turning the job down, I’ll only be able to get to this fig tree in April. It’s at my brothers house ( he’s disabled). Would I still be ok to do a prune in mid April? The tree it quite bit and needs cutting back. Thank you.

I tend to prune my pot grown fig in January, but it is always late to leaf up so you might get away with it. If it’s huge I’d risk it.

Yes it really is big! If it misses a year of fruiting next year that won’t be a big issue so I think I’ll risk it. Thank you.
