Creda Debonair Spindrier

I had one of these wonderful machines.  They were brilliant unless you forgot to put the bucket under the hose.  Oh, but did they spin.    Fantastic for washing a couple of items by hand.   Wish I still had it  -  Daydreaming again.     Mrs Bouquet

My mum used to use a dolly tub with Dolly Blue then she hoicked the washing out of the little electric washer with a pair of wooden tongs and put it through a hand-operated mangle. I used to help her but once stuck my finger in the mangle!
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Ouch   -    I see that you can still buy spindriers and they spin at 2800 rpm, my washing machine spins at 1400.
The last one was 1600 rpm, but when replacing it was told reduced spin to save energy ?  It is a German make.
If you spin it once at highest speed, then spin it again, will it be drier ??  Mrs B

I very rarely actually use the top speed spin in my w/m. It creases things and that means I have to iron clothes
I prefer a slower spin, and then put clothes on hangers and hang these on the airer or the bar over the bath  :D Rarely use my iron, that way.

I remember my mum had one right up till the early 70s
One of my enduring memories from my childhood is the noise it made. Nothing unusual in that day to day, but when we were going on holiday it seemed to be going all night, damn thing  :D
