Hi,
so we have just moved house and there is a pear tree in the garden.  On viewing the house I noticed just one pear on it in the Autumn, I think perhaps it is a 'conference' pear.  As far as I can gather most pear trees need another variety close by to pollinate the flowers and I am assuming this is not the case hence last years very low yield !  So I have a friend who has a large pear tree, can I cut some of the flowers and bring round to my garden and pollinate the flowers with a brush myself ?  I would very much love a good crop of pears and I am not sure there is room for another pear tree in my garden sadly.  Any other suggestions on how to get more fruit gratefully received !  Many thanks
