After many taste tests husband goes with Branston baked beans.  I have to admit that on a slice of toast they're not bad!

No, no I just like things to taste of what they’re supposed to! :D

Branston baked beans are the best nowadays, IMO. The others are too sweet (or don't have enough salt now that it's on the naughty list)
I love a good trifle but even the Bird's custard I always made to go in it, seems to bear no resemblance to what it used to be  :(

Talking about blasts from the past, we have turkey twizzlers back in at work and they have released a Christmas special cranberry one.  Not my immediate thought for the big day - oh I must have turkey twizzlers, but I guess they will be popular amongst some age groups

Anyone else a little perturbed by the mini food trend?  Our party food offerings get more odd every year.  I like the tempura prawns and some of the other favourite party nibbles, but the mini stuff makes me twitch a bit.  Mini fish and chips cones, mini hotdog roll ... even some weird mini pizza pasty with pepperoni in - hmmmmmmm

THose party nibbles were quite good when I went to other firms' evening bashes...

One particular fave was a mini Yorkshire with roast beef!

Anything vol-au-vent was usually a good bet, but they always squirted prawn sauce inwards, so the dry-cleaning bill went up every New Year!

Agree about the prawns too, News!

(And I remember having quite a few of these 'nibbles' in a very posh London Hotel one Christmas. All went well, until I tripped over a tiny step in the foyer on the way out! Those delicacies sure packed a 'punch')...

Very topical...

Mrs Growster has made about a million of these over the years, they used to fly off the shelves at her parents' pub, and her method has never changed!

...Only the crisps have!
