going to try a new squash variety next season called Mashed Potato the seed catalogue says its a new variety if this is true I can't ask anyone if they have grew it and how they rate it?

Has anyone also ordered the save variety ? well we need to give it a go :D

It is an Acorn squash, most years I grow Thelma Sanders (also an Acorn squash) which has also always been described as a potato squash :) (It's my Avatar :) )
They're very reliable, fairly small fruited, and the plants don't grow as rampantly as some varieties do.

thanks Mum good picture its given me some idea what they mite turn out like being the first season we intend to have a go at growing them just a couple of things what do they taste like I know a squash  :D and i guess there much the same as the other squashes very versatile

Cooked until soft and mashed with some butter, S&P, they are quite similar to potatoes IMO, just not as floury.
More like proper mash than mashed swede is, if you know what I mean  :blush:
Though I prefer them cut in half and stuffed with something tasty, then roasted YUM!
