I have bought my first magnolia. Beautiful white one that is in a pot.
Can anyone tell me what to do when each flower has finished. Do I just leave it or cut it like a rose down to the next root.

Having just looked at the RHS site for magnolias it seems you just leave them on the tree. You can prune back any crossing branches but don't do amy hard pruning as it produces water-shoots which are unproductive.
