Blueberry Pest
« on: July 16, 2020, 11:27 »
We have four blueberry bushes which do reasonably well. This year for the first time inside some blueberries is a green caterpillar.Never seen this before. The berry looks fine ,you could easily eat it  not
suspecting a problem inside . What could they be and what do we do to prevent it?
Any help much appreciated.

Hi Mike,

Could they be fruit-fly larvae?

See this link to the RHS website:

https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?pid=852

I've never seen them in my blueberries but they are expected to become an increasing problem.
