So I had to go to town today for a battery for the wife's car. Thought I would visit Auchan to check their compost stocks. plenty of it so checked the prices cheapest ( horticultural grade) was €2.45 for 40L I thought great for adding to my raised no dig beds so I bought 10 bags. I paid at the checkout and noticed that if you bought 6 then you got 3 free... put that load into the back of the car and went right back in for another ten ! I then cursed myself on the way home when I worked out that two or three batches of 9 was the cheapest way to go... important if you are Scottish
Still 800l of compost for €35 not to be sniffed at
