I make the same mistake every year with climbing beans. Start them too early in a propagator and then have to keep them in the greenhouse or polytunnel  until mid May when they are about 2 feet tall. It's called impatience after a long winter

I was hoping to start climbing beans now but don't have any compost, so am forced to wait another week at least, which is probably a blessing in disguise.

If your seedlings are doing the hurricane pose like those runners, you probably started them too early and didn't give them enough light. You can put foil around then when they gernimate which increases the light available to them, and helps prevent the palm tree in a hurricane look.

I once let my runners get very tall before planting. I tried in vain to untangle them but as fast I got 2 or 3 sorted they’d re tangle themselves. So I snipped them off to the first true leaves & planted them. I had the best beans I’d ever grown.lol
