After spending considerable time choosing my varieties after reading recent posts on here, I duly ordered from Thompson and Morgan nearly one month ago and after chasing twice hear that they will be delivered on Feb. 11th.  Is this late for chitting or O.K.?  Shall I cancel and buy what I can locally though not all the ones I would like - or hang on?

Do all varieties have to be chitted at the same time?

I've got Charlotte, which I've already started chitting, Rooster which is an early maincrop I think and Pink Fir Apple...

to chit or not to chit... I did some chitted and some not chitted of my Charlotte last year... no difference

It's done to earlies in an effort to bring them on sooner.

As I notice they will start growing shoots in their own time, depending how early/fast they are. This will happen whether you chit them on purpose or not.
